Our award-winning competitive program is designed for dancers seeking advanced dance education, with aspirations of pursuing professional careers or continuing their studies in college dance programs. Dancers in our Pre-Professional and Apprentice Company dedicate significant hours in the studio, mastering captivating routines, performing locally, and competing at regional and national levels. Participants have the opportunity to collaborate with guest artists and attend master classes led by professional dancers and choreographers actively working in the industry.

 

Placement in the program is determined through an audition process, and dancers are expected to engage with Legacy Dance Company year-round to refine their techniques and maintain their competitive edge.

 

If your dancer is interested in joining our Pre-Professional or Apprentice Company, please contact our teaching staff. Should we determine that your dancer is prepared for this challenge and has been a part of the Legacy Dance Company family for at least six months, an invitation to audition for the upcoming competitive season will be extended.

What's the difference between the two Companies?

Apprentice Company is designed for Beginner/Intermediate skilled dancers who want to be challenged and take their dancing to the next level. These dancers will be pushed further than our recreation dancers and challenged in stamina, artistry, technique, and introduced to the competitive world through two leveled competitions, and invitation to join our Pre-Professional dancers at convention classes.

Pre-Professional Company is designed for our Advanced skilled dancers who are ready to pursue more challenging choreography and compete in large groups, small groups, trio, duet, and solos. Dancers will compete in two leveled competitions and two convention level competitions over our competitive season. Many of our Pre-Professional dancers are interested in pursuing collegiate dance programs.
